Waiting for a single more minute seemed almost impossible. I would
have walked about few kilometers inside my room since Ritesh called me.
After leaving my home yesterday with a determined mind he had
set upon a new mission. He had promised me to gather every possible info about Smitha
and comeback in 24 hours. He called three hours back and said he is coming with
everything that I needed to know. It has been 5 hours and he hasn’t arrived
yet. Every half an hour he gives a call and tells me to wait for just one more
minute. I don’t understand where has my patience vanished away today. It was me who
had waited for about a decade. And today one more minute seems impossible.
Hearing the sound of a bike stopping near my gate I rushed
and was relieved to find him walking up the stairs.
“Where had you been…I was dying”
“Don’t, because your life is more valuable to me than
yourself. Now listen carefully what I am saying”
“Did you get to know anything about her ? Where does she
live. Where is she right now. Can I get to see her. Does she remember me. Is
she married ?” I asked all the questions wrapped up in my mind in just one go
and in a single breath.
Ritesh looked at my curious face and smiled.
“I talked with her”
“What” I said in an explosive tone.
“Sorry I was just kidding”. I smacked his back and thrashed
him mockingly for joking at this hour.
“She has already left for her home town. But I did got to know
few things about her. There is a good news for you”
“What …what is it ?”
“She isn’t married”
“Thank God” I said and crash landed on the bed. I could see
all my beautiful dreams turning into reality. I could feel the softness of her
eyes hypnotizing me. The gentleness of her face fascinating me and the sharpness
of her looks gripping me to herself. I came out of my dream world when
Ritesh said something else.
“And there’s a bad news too.”
“Bad news…what bad news. There can’t be any when she is still
single for me and isn’t married”
“She is about to"
