Home....

He had come as a young lad .

Not just helping in household chores but being accepted as a member for every occasion , he had seen them all , their happiness their remorse their quarrels their settlements their languishing senile years and their undeclared passing away .

But he stood there , adhered at the same place being that unseen shadow which we often miss out in glitz and glare of life’s ways .

Packing up his stuff he got readied for his village  , where once he had bid goodbye to his people , sitting on the back seat of a two wheeler that drove him away from his family , gifting him with a new one .

"Uncle , You have devoted your life in building up ours , rendering your selfless service and care , this was your home and will remain  so" said the young voice reassuring him holding on to his hands , pacifying the rising storms in his mind .

  6. Oh, Sushree, this was very touching. How blind-sighted we can become sometimes...I have always liked such stories who show us the world through the eyes of those people who hide behind us but without whom we wouldn't be where we are. Very nicely done, dear!

  7. I have someone in my family too, not a man but a female who has been with us for like forever and stood by us through all ups and downs.

  8. Heartwarming that the young person walked the 'family' talk.
Each one of us is born with a family. By understanding that "Family isn't always about blood," we can add many good persons to our 'family'.

  9. The final image of reassurance is so palpable, Sushree. You have a way of painting images with your words. Well done.

  12. This is a story which resonates with me too. We had Bhuvan at my granny's place. He came when he was a kid, and saw 4 generations of our family and finally left when it was time. :|
