Kite...

Putting wet clothes in the bucket she climbed upstairs .

Reaching the roof on 3rd floor seemed like an adventure won , after all age was also taking a toll on her , she was nearing 65 and the opportunistic knee pain reminded her again of the approaching senile years.

“Aunty” said a cute voice from behind , the tenant’s younger daughter was standing with a bright purple colored kite in her hand “ will you please help me in flying this” she said dribbling innocence with her voice.

Though she had been an ardent kite flier during her school days but never had she imagined  , her first love would come back searching for her , decades after she left him in such an unassuming circumstance.

Holding the kite in her hands , she felt a sudden vibe spreading across her tired body that gave her a mystical pull and as the kite flew high , up in the sky gliding itself making it’s way , it wasn’t just the kite but she felt as if the wind passed beneath her flightless wings and brushed aside her long neglected feathers .
